Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
We try to collect as little as possible and be transparent about what we do collect. A site about telecom security probably shouldn't be doing anything shady with your data — and we're not.
What we collect
We collect only what's needed to operate the site:
- Account data — email address and display name when you create an account (via Google OAuth or email/password through Supabase Auth).
- Content interactions — quiz results, topic favourites, and comments you submit.
- Contact submissions — message, type, and email address when you use the contact form.
- Analytics — page views and navigation patterns via Google Analytics, only if you consent. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are also active; these are cookieless and collect no personal data.
Cookies
We use two categories of cookies:
- Strictly necessary — session cookies set by Supabase to keep you signed in. These are required for the site to function and are not subject to consent.
- Analytics (optional) — Google Analytics cookies (
_ga,_gid,_ga_*). These are only set after you explicitly accept. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
Your preference is stored in localStorage under the key telecomiq_analytics_consent.
How we use your data
- To authenticate you and maintain your session.
- To store your favourites, quiz scores, and comments.
- To respond to contact form submissions.
- To understand which content is useful (analytics, with your consent).
Who we share data with
- Supabase — database and authentication provider. Data is stored on Supabase-managed infrastructure.
- Google Analytics — if you consent, page-view data is sent to Google. Google's privacy policy applies.
- Vercel — hosting and edge analytics. No personal data is shared; traffic is anonymised at the edge.
- We do not sell your data to any third party.
Data retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Contact submissions are retained for 12 months. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.
Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent for analytics at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, use the contact form.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be noted here with a revised date.
